Crocus
One of the best known tuberous plants is the crocus. Already in a publication from 1548 The Names of Herbes, by William Turner, a list of crocuses for the garden was described. The recently published monograph: The World Of Crocus, by Janis Ruksans, gives us new insight into this gender.
Crocus includes a very large number of species and the hundreds of cultivars that have resulted.
